Alison While has been Professor of Community Nursing at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery, King's College London since 1992. Having completed her nursing training at St Thomas' Hospital in 1975, Alison was a practising health visitor until joining King's College London in 1985. Extensively published in journals and books, Alison is involved with a number of major research projects with the Government and charities, and has specialist expertise in chronic disease care for people living at home.
Jonathan holds a degree in psychology and trained as a nurse at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery Kings College London. Jonathan was an Anaesthetic nurse practitioner—specialising in cardiac and trauma perioperative practice-before moving into primary care as a senior community staff nurse. He became editor of BJCN in May 2007.
