Alison While has been Professor of Community Nursing at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery, King's College London since 1992. Having completed her nursing training at St Thomas' Hospital in 1975, Alison was a practising health visitor until joining King's College London in 1985. Extensively published in journals and books, Alison is involved with a number of major research projects with the Government and charities, and has specialist expertise in chronic disease care for people living at home.
Julie has a degree in English from Reading University and, prior to her role as editor of British Journal of Community Nursing, worked on British Journal of Healthcare Assistants for nearly three years for MA Healthcare Limited.
